Saturday reading program
The children's Saturday reading program will be held this Saturday, November 7th at 10:30 a.m. the theme this Saturday is "Fall". the program is open to all children ages 3 through kindergarten.

Saturday Children's Reading Program
The Saturday children's reading program will begin this Saturday, October 24 th at 10:30 a.m. The program is open to all children ages 3 through kindergarten. As this is right before Halloween, we would like to have the children in costume if you can. Not required! You may call the library to register or just come on Saturday morning. We will be having the program every other Saturday through the end of April 2010. Please come and join us for some fun!

Saturday Reading Program
The Saturday reading program will be held on Saturday, January 17th and Saturday, January 31st. The program is open to all children ages 3 through kindergarten. Story time is held and a craft is done.

Summer reading kickoff
Dealing with weather created quite a flurry of activity yesterday, but in the end we had the kickoff at the Ortonville Public Library. We had between 70 and 80 adults and children. Games were played, registrations done, and ice cream enjoyed by all! Thank you to the Friends of the Library for providing the ice cream.

Reading in the Park
This summer the Ortonville Public Library will be doing a Storytime in Park. We will be at Lakeside Park each Tuesday, starting on June 10th at 10 a.m. for a storytime. There will not be activities, just a story time. This is open to anyone who wants to come and listen to children's stories. The storytime will last about 45 minutes. We will do this every Tuesday through August 19th. So bring your blankets and lawn chairs, get comfortable, sit back and enjoy some stories!
B.O.O.K.
The Ortonville Public Library will be having a new program this year called B.O.O.K., Building Opportunities for Outstanding Kids. This program will pair up first through 6th graders with mentors who are ninth grade and older. They will meet at their convenience for one hour a week to do reading and writing activities to help them over the summer months. This program will also start the week of June 9th and run until August 1st. If anyone is interested in being a mentor, please contact the library at 320-839-2494.
Summer Reading Program
The Ortonville Public Library will be having their summer reading programs on Wednesdays starting on June 18th and going through July 23rd. The first session will be at 1:00 p.m for children in first through sixth grade. The second session will be at 3:30 for preschool (age 3) through kindergarten. All sessions will be held at the library. There will be books read, activities done and games played each session. The theme this year is "Look What's Cookin' at Your Library".
Summer Reading Program Kickoff
The Ortonville Public Library will be having their summer reading program beginning with registration the week of June 9-14. We will also be having a kick-off party at Lakeside Park on Wednesday, June 11 from 3:30 - 5. Penny Hornemann will be bringing her animals and some are babies for you all to see. We will be playing games and there will be refreshments. The program is open to all children ages 3 through sixth grade. Come to the park and have some fun.

The Saturday children's reading program will be held on December 1, 15th and 29th. On December 15th, Santa will be making an appearance to the children. This program is open to all children ages 3 through kindergarten.

The next Saturday reading program will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. This will be a late Halloween party for the children. We ask that they come in costume to have some fun and treats!

You can sign your child/ren up at the library or call 320-839-2494. The program runs through April 2008. Storytime, an activity and a coloring sheet are all part of this fun program. Summer Reading Program
The summer reading program will wrap up on Saturday, July 28th. We will giving out prizes to our top readers. We also have many other prizes to give out. Banana splits will be served to all participants. Thank you to all who participated and made the program fun! See you next year!
Johnny Pineapple
Johnny Pineapple was at the Ortonville Public Library on July 25th. He sang, told jokes, played his uke and taught the children how to hula! A great time was had by all. Check out the pictures of the event.

Final Saturday Reading Program
The final Saturday children's reading program for all children ages 3 through Kindergarten will be held on Saturday, April 21st at 10:30 a.m. As this is the final progrm, we will be doing stories, a craft, and having some food to eat. Please plan on attending.

Please contact the library at 320-839-2494 to sign your child up for the final Saturday children's reading program on April 21st. We will be having an end of the year party so we need a count for food.
